Doyle Street - Emeryville, California

Project Background

Emeryville’s Doyle Street Greenway was first proposed in the early 2000s as a way to reuse an abandoned railroad line which once through the city in a North-South direction. The separated greenway became quickly popular since opening, but the Doyle Street bike boulevard segment, which required pedestrians and cyclists to share the space with car traffic became a missing link. Crossroad Lab was hired to redesign the bicycle boulevard segment so the greenway would reach its goal as an all ages and abilities facility.
